Since 1936 Seneca Gospel has been working to create a better tomorrow for youth within our community!
Lacking accessible resources for physical and spiritual nourishment, the children in the neighborhoods we serve often find themselves in unhealthy patterns.
It’s a well-known fact that children growing up in poverty are at a far greater risk of:
- Poor health
- Addiction
- Jail
Through education, spiritual guidance, and mentoring relationships we help equip and empower youth with knowledge needed to make healthier life choices. Our programming strives to improve self-esteem, social competence, and avoidance of problem and high-risk behaviors.
Current Programs & Ministries:
- Building Urban Gardeners ("BUG Club") - Kid's Gardening and Healthy Eating Summer Program
- Teen Life Club - Social Activities & Life Skills Group
- Middle School Reading Camp – Fun and entertaining reading and writing exercises
- Vacation Bible School - Christian education through a variety of enriching activities
- Sunday Seneca Street Meal Ministry – Providing over 12,000 homemade hot meals a year to those in need
- Seneca Street Community Garden – Producing naturally grown nutritious food for the community
- Rise Teen Work Readiness – Teaching soft job skills needed to secure and maintain employment
- Big Story Club - Christian Education class for kids 6 to 11
We are both grateful and honored to be working collaboratively and in partnership with two great community organizations! Reading Camp and Teen Life are Seneca Street CDC programs. VBS and the Seneca Street Meal Ministry are Seneca Street Church ministries. Together we are all stronger and more able to accomplish great things! Thanks to the grace of God and the generosity of those wishing to help change lives, Seneca Gospel has represented the love and grace of Jesus to over 10,000 children and their families thus far!
